“Elementary Ag in the Classroom” is a new and long-term initiative launched in Fall 2025. The idea was born after two of our FFA members attended the National FFA NextGen: Agricultural Education Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Inspired by sessions and workshops focused on early agricultural literacy, they returned home determined to bring similar opportunities to our district’s youngest learners.
From their vision, this program was developed to introduce elementary students to the world of agriculture in fun, engaging, and age-appropriate ways. Our FFA members lead hands-on lessons that spark curiosity about the food, fiber, and fuel that students interact with every day... often without realizing it. Lessons cover traditional crop and livestock topics as well as unique and specialty areas of agriculture, helping students see the wide range of possibilities within the industry.
This initiative reflects our chapter’s commitment to cultivating agricultural understanding from an early age and will continue to grow for years to come.
Thank you to Landus Cooperative for their generous $750 "Core Grant" donation that has helped fund this initiative!
