Description

This class will introduce students to topics in the agronomy sector of agriculture. Students will learn about anatomy and physiology of crops, growth and production of grains and forages, soils, crops grown around the world, crop nutrition, crop reproduction, crop diseases, weeds, chemicals used in crop production, farm machinery, and many other topics. Students will be engaged in activities outside of the classroom as well as in the classroom. Potential field trips will allow students to see the real-life applicability of this course and how it affects their lives. This course prepares students for potential careers as an agronomist, crop scout, seed salesman, farmer, and others.
