Description

This class will introduce students to and help them better understand plant science. Topics will include plant anatomy and physiology, plant nutrition, fruit and vegetable production, flower production, plant propagation, hydroponics, and many other topics. Labs will expose students to a variety of plants and get students engaged in plant production. The greenhouse will be used as a tool for students in this class to grow flowers and vegetables that will be a way for students to apply what they have learned in class. This class will work with the Ag Business class to grow, market, and sell the flowers and vegetables to the community as a project for both classes. This class prepares students for careers as a horticulture scientist, greenhouse operator, golf course superintendent, working for lawn care companies, and many other careers.
