About:
I grew up on a diversified grain and livestock operation in West Central Iowa. On our family farm, we raise(d) cattle, hogs, poultry and produce corn, soybeans, and alfalfa. Additionally, our family operates a welding and repair shop and tiling business among other endeavors.
I am 2013 graduate of Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll. During high school I was very engaged within the Carroll Area FFA Chapter; serving as a chapter officer, competing on the state and national levels in LDE/CDE's, and being a servant in community service initiatives. As I moved into college I studied abroad, became heavily involved in campus clubs and organizations, interned in a wide variety of agricultural industries, and networked with industry professionals all over the country and world. Much of my intentions revolve around seeking out experiences that I can pass along to students. I have a genuine passion for developing the next generation of young agriculturalist who will provide food, fiber, and fuel for the world.
I hope to provide our community with a well rounded agricultural education program that develops students' leadership capabilities, personal growth, and career skills.

Jamie Pudenz, Agricultural Sciences instructor at Aplington-Parkersburg High School, leverages partnerships to create hands-on learning opportunities for his students. He challenges his students to think differently, focusing on the process of working toward an answer, rather than just the answer itself. In an engineering course, he challenges students to design and build a working backhoe with plastic syringes, tuning, wooden dowels and cardboard. In 2020, Pudenz completed an Iowa STEM Teacher Externship with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) at the Big Marsh Wildlife Management Area. That experience inspired a new natural resources and environmental management course at Aplington-Parkersburg High School. Students work directly with the Iowa DNR to contribute to projects like population and disease tracking in local wildlife. In 2021, Pudenz and his plant science students met with Dr. Michael Bechtel, an associate professor of science at Wartburg College, to explore aquaponics: an approach to food production where plants are cultivated in water rather than soil. The collaboration helped the class overcome challenges they were facing, allowing them to build their own aquaponics system in the course.
